Follow-Me Expands Norwegian Presence Through Rubicon Sales Partnership

News Image
Performer tracking technology specialist Follow-Me has entered into a strategic sales partnership with Rubicon AS as it looks to expand access to its tracking solutions across the Norwegian live entertainment market.

The agreement covers Follow-Me’s full product portfolio, including the recently introduced DELT∆ system and the Track-iT auto-tracking platform, and is aimed at increasing adoption of performer tracking technology among theatres, festivals, concerts and corporate event venues throughout Norway.

Rubicon AS, founded in 1994, has established itself as a supplier and installer of professional audio, lighting and staging technology. Since shifting to a dedicated sales and distribution model in 2017, the company has focused on supplying equipment to installers while continuing selected specialist installations. The company also represents several established brands within Norway’s live entertainment market, including Ayrton, and brings extensive industry relationships and technical expertise to the partnership.

"Follow-Me fits nicely into our portfolio of staging and live event technologies," said Petter Norby, CEO and Founder of Rubicon AS. "We are seeing a rise in demand for performer tracking across the live entertainment industry. What was once a cutting-edge addition is increasingly becoming a standard requirement on major productions and in leading venues, whether for remote follow spot, immersive audio or media server integration. We see this trajectory continuing in Norway, and Follow-Me is perfectly positioned to meet that demand."

Rubicon believes there is significant potential for growth in the Norwegian performer tracking market and has identified several major venues as possible candidates for deployment. The company is also working with show designers and industry professionals to increase awareness of the technology and plans to demonstrate Follow-Me products through presentations and seminars across the market.

"Our goal is to kickstart the market for performer tracking here in Norway," said Alexander Rambøl, Head of Sales at Rubicon AS. "We are working on planting some seeds in the market and telling designers about the Follow-Me system; we have one house in Norway that we are already talking to, and we anticipate that the demand for this kind of technology will build further soon."

Follow-Me said the partnership forms part of a wider strategy to expand the reach of performer tracking technology into new venues and creative environments.

"We are delighted to welcome Rubicon to the Follow-Me family," added Marc van der Wel, Managing Director at Follow-Me. "Petter, Alexander and the team bring decades of experience in the Norwegian live event market, and have a strong live entertainment background and reputation. We look forward to working closely with them to introduce performer tracking to new venues and designers across Norway."

As part of the rollout strategy, Rubicon and Follow-Me will collaborate on demonstrations and educational initiatives, including online presentations and visits to Follow-Me’s facilities in the Netherlands. Both companies said building familiarity with the technology among venue operators and designers will be an important factor in driving adoption across the Norwegian market.
