DVD Market Remains Strong For Refine With First Retail Blu-Ray

Newly rebranded DVD authoring business re:fine, previously known as 24-7DVD, has announced a batch of recent commissions to author and produce various DVD projects including its first Blu-Ray DVD title for retail.
First up, re:fine has completed and delivered its first retail Blu-Ray Nighthawks I and II for retail and the BFI's online and physical Filmstore.
Nighthawks I and II are stunning restorations by the BFI, revealing Nighthawks to be one of the great undervalued films of the 1970s.
re:fine delivered the Blu-Ray films along with the SD versions in a 3 week turn around from receipt of assets to delivery for replication.
Symon Roue, Chief Executive Officer of the re:fine group said of this Blu-Ray breakthrough for the company, said: "Such a turnaround is unheard of for a retail project Blu-Ray. With our heritage, both technically and in terms of client care, we were more than capable of rising to the challenge.
"We are delighted to be working with the BFI."
The next Blu-ray title on re:fine's books will be for Route One Releasing for its UK hit clubbed, produced by Formosa Films. Clubbed is an underworld drama set in the early 1980s, about a lonely factory worker, whose life is transformed when he becomes a nightclub doorman.
Back in SD, re:fine has also just completed delivery on 4 60's cult titles for Digital Classics; Ken Russell's Liztomania starring Roger Daltrey, Green Mansions with Audrey Hepburn and Anthony Hopkins, Kaleidoscope, a romantic comedy with Warren Beatty and Susannah York and finally romance Petulia, starring Julie Christie.
New client news comes in the form of Axiom Films and Momentum Pictures with ongoing agreements to author retail DVDs. On the Axiom slate three of an initial order of five are in production in the world cinema arthouse genre, Exterminating Angels, L'aventure and The State of Things.
