Egerton University Installs AEQ CAPITOL IP Mixer In Training Studio

Egerton Radio at Egerton University’s Nakuru campus has made the AEQ CAPITOL IP digital mixer the centrepiece of its updated training studio.

The station combines a community radio service with practical facilities for students of journalism and audiovisual communication, operating within a single purpose-built space.

Following a recent refresh, AEQ’s digital platform now underpins day-to-day operations, with the ultra-compact CAPITOL IP routing all programme audio. Staffed by experienced operators, the station chose AEQ for its reliability, high-quality digital sound and ease of use.

AEQ CAPITOL IP is an eight-channel, fixed-configuration digital mixing console. IP connectivity is provided by an integrated module offering 16 input and 16 output channels. The console features 4 mic/line inputs, 12 analogue inputs, 4 AES/EBU (AES3) stereo digital inputs, 2 USB stereo digital inputs, plus two optional telephone lines and optional multichannel digital links. It can also deliver 16 AoIP channels via two Ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels over a fibre-optic input.

Popular with local stations worldwide, the CAPITOL series combines IP-enabled digital technology with straightforward, exceptionally robust operation, making it a strong fit for public service and educational studios.
