Bolin Technology Unveils Range, R9-L420N And KBD Plus For PTZ Workflows

News Image
Bolin Technology has introduced three additions to its professional range: Range, an all‑weather 'anywhere' PTZ camera; the R9‑L420N large‑sensor PTZ; and KBD Plus, an advanced production controller.

The launches broaden Bolin's camera and control portfolio for broadcast, live production and pro AV over IP environments.

The trio advances Bolin's aim of delivering a more complete PTZ production ecosystem, targeting three priorities in modern workflows: flexible deployment across varied locations, higher‑end imaging for demanding productions, and streamlined multi‑camera operation through integrated control and monitoring.

Range is built to serve indoor and outdoor roles while retaining the compact form factor and professional look of an indoor PTZ. It captures 4K60 video with a 25x zoom using a 1/1.8‑inch Sony sensor and is rated IP65, with a concealed rain wiper and an operating range of −40°C to +60°C. Its high‑precision brushless motors enable PTZR movement up to 300° per second and acceleration from 0° to 120° per second in 200 milliseconds. The image module rotates up to 270°, supporting vertical video, creative angles and horizon correction. An integrated screen offers settings review and live preview, there’s a built‑in carrying handle with threaded accessory mounts, and connectivity spans Ethernet and Wi‑Fi. Outputs include 12G‑SDI, HDMI 2.0, USB‑C (UVC) and IP, with support for NDI, SRT, RTMP, RTSP and ONVIF.

Designed for productions that demand premium image quality and precise synchronisation, the R9‑L420N pairs a 1‑inch sensor with advanced processing to deliver 4K60 video with up to 20x zoom and 1080p at up to 120 fps. Hybrid autofocus blends phase‑detection speed with contrast‑based accuracy, while adjustable cropped outputs allow alternative framings from a single camera. For multi‑camera setups, it supports LTC timecode and Genlock, and includes built‑in ND filters. Connectivity covers dual 12G‑SDI, HDMI 2.0, Optical SDI and IP, alongside NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX3, SRT, RTMP, RTSP, ONVIF and MPEG‑TS.

KBD Plus consolidates camera control, monitoring and automation in one interface. Built‑in decoding displays live feeds from up to four IP cameras simultaneously, with low‑latency output over HDMI 2.0 and USB‑C (UVC), and an integrated 4‑inch LCD touch display for direct control and feedback. It introduces a new precision joystick and user‑definable buttons, and supports VISCA over IP, VISCA over serial, NDI, ONVIF and manufacturer protocols from Panasonic and Canon. A future software update will add AI‑based subject tracking, enabling automated tracking for cameras without native tracking via the controller.
