NETGEAR Partners With EVS
NETGEAR and EVS Broadcast Equipment have announced a global technology partnership aimed at simplifying IP-based workflows for broadcast and live production teams.
The collaboration centers on validating EVS live production systems on NETGEAR's AV switching platforms, providing customers with pretested, interoperable solutions for AV-over-IP deployments. The initiative is designed to reduce the complexity of integrating systems as the industry accelerates its shift toward IP-based production environments, particularly in live sports, broadcast, and REMI workflows.
By focusing on open, standards-based approaches, the partnership supports adoption of protocols such as SMPTE ST 2110, enabling more predictable performance and reducing the need for custom engineering during deployment.
"When productions shift to IP, the network can't be an afterthought," said Dieter Backx, Vice President of Control and Orchestration at EVS. "We've validated our media infrastructure solutions on NETGEAR's AV switches so customers can spend less time tuning infrastructure and more time running shows. It's a practical and efficient path to SMPTE ST 2110 workflows, or any other IP transport mechanism such as NDI or Dante, whether on site, remote, or distributed environments."
As part of the partnership, the companies jointly tested EVS technologies—including Cerebrum, Neuron and Strada—on NETGEAR’s M4350 and M4250 switch series. NETGEAR is also providing configuration guidance and controller profiles, supported by AV-focused technical services, to help users deploy systems more efficiently.
The validated solutions aim to improve consistency in live production environments by offering ready-to-use configurations that address key requirements such as timing accuracy, quality of service, and bandwidth management. In addition to lab validation, the partnership includes collaboration on customer deployments, training, and global support.
