Brompton Technology, ROE Visual And Unit1 Studio Partner

Brompton Technology has partnered with Unit1 Studio and ROE Visual to develop a new generation of hyper-realistic avatar concert experiences using advanced LED and AI-driven production techniques.

The collaboration combines Brompton's Tessera LED processing platform with ROE Visual’s high-resolution LED screens to support Unit1 Studio’s work in VFX and AI-enhanced CGI. The system is being used to create digital avatars of human artists with a level of realism intended to replicate live performance conditions more closely than previous technologies.

Unit1 Studio was founded with the aim of recreating iconic live performances for modern audiences. The company says its model significantly lowers the cost of producing avatar-led concerts, making the format more accessible to a wider range of artists, catalogue owners and entertainment venues. Previously, such productions were largely limited to top-earning performers due to high production costs.

As part of its early showcase work, Unit1 Studio collaborated with singer-songwriter KT Tunstall ahead of the 20th anniversary reissue of Eye To The Telescope. The demonstration took place at Brompton Technology’s West London facility, using ROE Visual’s Topaz 1.5mm LED screen paired with Brompton’s Tessera SX40 4K LED processor to test colour accuracy, calibration and rendering performance under production conditions.

The companies said precise colour reproduction and image clarity were critical to achieving convincing digital performances, particularly in close-up facial animation where subtle visual details contribute to perceived realism. Brompton's technical team supported Unit1 Studio throughout the development process, advising on colour pipelines, colour spaces and rendering approaches.

Brompton’s Tessera processing platform provides HDR output, advanced colour management and scalable performance across different production sizes, supporting both small and large-scale avatar and virtual production workflows.

The companies said the collaboration represents a broader step forward for avatar-based live entertainment, combining display technology, processing systems and AI-driven content creation to expand the possibilities of digital performance.
