Frequency Unveils AI Platform And 'Blueprints'

Frequency has launched a new AI-powered platform for its Frequency Studio product, introducing advanced tools designed to transform how streaming television channels are created, scheduled and optimised.

The announcement, made ahead of NAB Show 2026, outlines a platform-wide AI architecture that supports the full channel lifecycle — from content management and scheduling to distribution, graphics and live operations.

The Los Angeles-based company said Frequency Studio is now accessible to AI agents across all core services, allowing channels to be built and managed at scale with significantly reduced manual input.

"Customers are deluged with new AI-powered features – a tool for one workflow, an assistant for one task," said Blair Harrison, Founder and CEO of Frequency. "These are useful, but they are point solutions. They don't share context across the channel lifecycle, they don't learn from each other, and they don't compound in value. Frequency runs one platform, one version, for all customers. It is this architecture that enables us to embed intelligence across the entire system."

"As AI reshapes every software category, the gap between platforms built for intelligence and those simply bolting on new AI features will be the key differentiator of value for customers."

A key feature of the new platform is 'Blueprints', a system that defines how a channel operates by combining programming logic, editorial rules and optimisation goals into a single, adaptable framework. These Blueprints can be created using natural language inputs — such as written descriptions, schedules or conversations — and are designed to evolve over time using AI insights.

The company also introduced AI Scheduling, the first application powered by Blueprints, which automatically converts content libraries into fully programmed channels while adhering to rights restrictions, editorial guidelines and audience behaviour patterns.

Blueprints are currently in private beta with a major global media and entertainment company, with fully AI-operated channels expected to launch on major distribution platforms in the second quarter of 2026.

Frequency will demonstrate the new platform at NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, as well as at StreamTV Denver in June.
