Mediagenix Unveils AI Platform

Mediagenix has launched a suite of artificial intelligence capabilities designed to help broadcasters, streaming platforms and content owners integrate AI into day-to-day channel operations.

Announced on 15 July, the new features are aimed at supporting tasks including title management, scheduling and planning through the use of conversational AI, semantic intelligence and governed AI agents.

The Belgium-based company said the platform has been developed specifically for the media industry and combines its existing Semantic Intelligence technology with a new AI Gateway designed to provide governance, operational controls and transparency for enterprise AI deployments.

A key feature of the announcement is the Mediagenix AI Dashboard, a conversational interface that enables users to interact with media workflows using natural language. The dashboard allows operators to ask questions about schedules, rights, metadata and content performance, identify operational issues, generate insights and initiate actions from a single workspace.

Example uses include checking schedules for specific territories, identifying rights that are due to expire, detecting metadata issues affecting scheduling, recommending corrections to reduce downstream errors and generating alternative scheduling scenarios.

The platform uses a model-agnostic architecture, allowing organisations to adopt different AI models while maintaining flexibility and protecting existing technology investments.

Mediagenix said its Semantic Intelligence layer provides AI systems with contextual understanding across content, metadata, scheduling, rights, audiences, distribution, monetisation and performance. The technology already underpins functions including semantic search, metadata enrichment, recommendations, schedule optimisation and decision support across the company's platform.

The new agentic AI capabilities are intended to automate a range of operational tasks while retaining human oversight. Initial applications include scheduling and programming for linear, FAST and video-on-demand services, rights and finance management, title management, and promotion optimisation.

To support enterprise deployment, the company has also introduced an AI Gateway that provides model orchestration, governance, traceability, observability and security controls. Support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables AI agents to interact with Mediagenix systems while remaining subject to existing permissions, rights management and human approval processes.

Mediagenix said the combination of Semantic Intelligence, MCP and the AI Gateway is designed to create a trusted intelligence layer capable of supporting what it describes as the "Real-Time Media Enterprise", allowing media organisations to automate routine tasks, improve operational efficiency, optimise content planning and respond more quickly to changing business and audience demands.
