Frequency Unveils Intelligent Channel Vision At IBC2026

Frequency, which powers many of the world's leading streaming television channels, will use IBC2026 to demonstrate how intelligence embedded across channel workflows, paired with advertising innovation, can help content owners build stronger and more profitable streaming businesses.

The streaming sector has moved beyond a simple race to launch channels. Today, content owners and platform operators must rapidly turn catalogues, brands and live moments into high‑quality FAST (Free Ad‑Supported Streaming Television) services, manage larger portfolios with greater efficiency, and unlock fresh revenue streams without adding complexity.

At the show, Frequency will outline how the latest evolution of Frequency Studio brings these goals together to create an “intelligent channel”: one that understands its programming strategy, applies intelligence and automation to run more efficiently, and opens new avenues to monetise audience attention. Studio AI reduces manual effort across programming and channel operations, while Frequency’s Advanced Advertising suite creates premium monetisation opportunities without compromising the viewer experience.

"Streaming has reached a point where complexity can stand in the way of profitability," said Blair Harrison, founder and CEO of Frequency. "Our focus is using innovation to solve that complexity for our customers, to simplify channel operations and create new ways to turn audience attention into revenue."

Intelligence is built in rather than bolted on. Studio AI spreads intelligence across end‑to‑end channel workflows, helping teams find content, build schedules, apply channel strategy and manage day‑to‑day operations. Central to this approach is Frequency’s Blueprint, a natural‑language description of a channel’s aims—its identity, audience, content strategy, programming rules and business constraints. The Blueprint underpins an intelligent channel that can continually improve how it is programmed, operated and monetised, translating programming expertise into actions Studio can understand and execute.

At IBC, Frequency will show how Studio AI uses a channel Blueprint to analyse schedules, recommend programming decisions and ultimately automate channel production. The result is that teams can operate extensive content portfolios more efficiently, launch localised or experimental services faster and make better use of licensed content. Human expertise is not replaced; it is encoded, applied consistently and scaled dramatically.

The same intelligence that sharpens programming can also make advertising more valuable. At IBC2026, Frequency will showcase its expanding Advanced Advertising portfolio, extending intelligence from channel operations to monetisation. Because Frequency originates the channel, Studio has a unique understanding of each stream’s content and context—what is playing, the surrounding context and where advertising opportunities occur—producing richer monetisation signals.

By combining these contextual signals with innovative ad formats and existing ad‑tech integrations, Frequency’s Advanced Advertising portfolio enables content owners to create more valuable inventory and earn more from every channel without increasing traditional ad load or relinquishing control of their inventory. With detailed knowledge of content and channel context, Studio can apply this intelligence across programming, operations, distribution and monetisation.

Frequency Studio is the platform behind the intelligent channel, unifying content management, scheduling, live playout, graphics, distribution, analytics and monetisation in a single cloud‑native operating environment. From one intuitive interface, content owners can create, manage and deliver video services to more than 200 pre‑certified endpoints worldwide.

Studio also streamlines today’s complex global distribution landscape. Customers can manage rights windows and territorial exclusions, localise metadata and artwork, map parental ratings to regional standards, deliver multiple audio tracks and closed captions, and standardise ingestion and EPG data across markets—establishing a consistent operating model across languages, territories and rights regimes.

Frequency will demonstrate how its latest innovations are defining the intelligent channel at meeting room 5.MR11 during IBC2026 at the RAI Amsterdam from 11–14 September.
