ARRI And SmallHD Launch Customisable Lens Data Overlays For Hi-5 And Hi-5 SX

ARRI has partnered with SmallHD to introduce a new SmallHD Monitor Overlay License for the Hi-5 and Hi-5 SX hand units, enabling customisable on-screen lens data for cinematographers and focus pullers.

The license allows users to display focus and iris scales, focal length, FocusBug CineRT data, and other lens information directly on supported SmallHD monitors and the ARRI CCM-1, helping crews keep critical data visible without obstructing the live image.

The Hi-5 overlays integrate with SmallHD's Add-On API framework and the PageOS 6 monitoring platform. Users can adjust overlay opacity, position, and size, toggle visibility, save multiple layouts, and choose light or dark themes. On touchscreen monitors, overlay elements can be moved freely on the display.

Supported models include: SmallHD CINE 5, 7, and 13; SmallHD Ultra 5, 7, and 10; SmallHD 703 Ultrabright; SmallHD 1303 HDR; and ARRI CCM-1. Compatibility with other PageOS 6 monitors may vary.
