Radio ITESO Uses AEQ Audiocodecs

Radio ITESO, the university radio station in Guadalajara, has delivered a high-grade audio broadcast from the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), deploying AEQ systems to provide a professional listening experience for both its technical team and audience.

The initiative supports the station's aim to offer live content with studio-quality sound from remote locations.

The link from the fairground was handled by the portable AEQ Alio codec, which connected guest microphones and lead presenter Bettina Acevedo to a single device. This setup enabled clear, faithful capture from multiple sources, ensuring comprehensive coverage of interviews and presentations across the FIL venue.

At the station end, Radio ITESO employed the dual-channel AEQ Venus4+ audiocodec, configured for Dante audio distribution. This allowed the incoming high-quality feed to be routed in real time to any studio, giving engineers the flexibility to build different production scenarios for live transmission, mixing and recording without compromising sound fidelity.

The Venus4+ second channel was configured with Smartalk to enable high-quality contributions from mobile phones. This made it possible to bring in remote collaborators and additional interviews, widening the scope of coverage without relying on fixed infrastructure.

The deployment shows how combining portable audiocodecs with professional broadcast solutions can deliver studio-grade sound for outside events, enhancing the station’s production capability and reinforcing its leadership in real-time coverage of cultural activities.

The project was led by Esteban Contreras, Technical Manager at Radio ITESO, working with local distributor Viewhaus and its technical representative Jaime Cervantes, alongside Cesar Reyna, Manager of AEQ Mexico. Close coordination among all parties ensured a smooth, stable and professional transmission, underlining the value of AEQ technology in dynamic, high-demand environments.
