Radio Ulcinj Overhauls Main Studio With AEQ CAPITOL IP Digital Console

Radio Ulcinj, the public local broadcaster serving the coastal city of Ulcinj in Montenegro, has revamped its main studio with an AEQ CAPITOL IP 12-fader digital console and AEQ StudioBox units.

The integration was delivered by SIPA, AEQ's distributor and systems integrator for the region.

With a longstanding role in delivering local news, information and cultural programming, the station says the upgrade will improve day-to-day operations by creating a more efficient, reliable and future-ready production environment.

AEQ CAPITOL IP is an ultra-compact digital mixing console for radio and television, purpose-built for on-air broadcast control. Features include automatic monitor muting, cough muting, fader start, signalling control, external equipment automation and intercom management. Its compact footprint and extensive internal routing capabilities make it suitable for self-operated studios, control rooms, recording booths, outside broadcast units and large-scale installations.

The project also incorporates AEQ StudioBox units, which carry up to seven control commands and two signalling functions between the studio and the console, enabling microphone muting, pre-fade listening and other configurable operational functions.

After several weeks in service, Radio Ulcinj Director Muzafer Čauši said: "After a few weeks of use, I can say that this audio mixer exceeded our expectations. The sound is clean and professional, the controls are clear and intuitive, and the manufacturing seems high-quality and reliable. I am very happy with my purchase and would happily recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable radio console."

The SIPA-delivered installation underlines broadcasters' continued confidence in AEQ solutions to modernise studios with reliable, high-quality and easy-to-operate broadcast technology.
