Ślęza Wrocław Arena Installs AEQ Intercom

The new Ślęza Wrocław multi-purpose sports arena in Wrocław, Poland, has been equipped with a full technical infrastructure to support sporting competitions, events and broadcast operations.

Covering around 11,000 m², the facility is primarily geared towards athletics and basketball and forms part of a broader upgrade to the city’s sports infrastructure.

A venue-wide intercom based on AEQ technology provides clear, dependable communication for the technical teams. The solution streamlines operational coordination during events and broadcasts, ensuring efficient links between all workstations.

Central to the intercom are AEQ Xplorer wireless beltpacks, which operate as portable user panels for crew coordination. Running over Wi‑Fi in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, the devices deliver stable, intelligible communications in dynamic environments such as sports arenas. Each beltpack includes a user interface with programmable keys arranged in pages, a multifunction display indicating destinations, audio levels, battery status and wireless signal strength, plus independent volume controls to aid communication management. Their compact, rugged, splash-resistant construction supports intensive production use and allows staff to move freely while staying connected. The wireless design also integrates with managed Wi‑Fi networks, enabling mobility across the coverage area and rapid deployment.

The arena’s sound reinforcement system uses RCF technology, APEX amplification and Yamaha digital processing, all networked via Dante to provide consistent, intelligible coverage for competitions, events and public announcements.

For commentary and audio production, the venue employs a Midas M32R Live console, Klark Teknik interfaces and Sennheiser wireless systems to support broadcasts and interviews. Design, supply and integration of the technical systems were delivered by TOMMEX, a specialist in professional audio and communications solutions.
