C4-Sports to host Sports Media and Technology Conference

C4-Sports, the first electronic media trade show dedicated wholly to sports technology and to run on July 18 and 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, will feature an innovative Sports Media and Technology Conference presented by Future Media Concepts (FMC) and sponsored by Avid Technology.
C4-Sports will focus on the critical components of sports technology, and the extensive FMC conference will feature cutting-edge technical sessions and panel discussions designed to allow sports media production professionals to share and learn techniques specific to the sports television production environment.
“The sports television production industry has never before been served in its own conference, and our Sports Media and Technology Conference at C4-Sports will provide professionals in this field with an education geared entirely to their work,” said Ben Kozuch, President and Co-founder of Future Media Concepts. “Today’s sports production facilities face new challenges presented by the push for high-quality HD media, as well as the rapidly growing demand for sports content on new platforms ranging from HD DVD to cell phones and other mobile devices. Our conference is dedicated to educating facility managers and engineers, as well as actual content creators, editors, and motion graphic designers, on these types of issues.”
The keynote address will be delivered on the first day of the Sports Media and Technology Conference by Ken Adelson, NBA Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Production Operations and Planning. Adelson serves a key role in NBA Entertainment’s push into digital media in production, distribution, and archiving. He will discuss the challenges of managing, storing, sharing, and delivering sports media, part of a joint venture with SGI.
The Sports Media and Technology Conference will include two full days of training, made up of three simultaneous tracks on the topics of facility management, creative content creation, and next-generation distribution. It will also feature case study presentations by industry leaders and experts.
