Vislink Updates Its CLIQ Wireless Video Transmitter
Vislink Technologies, Inc. has unveiled the newest generation of CLIQ, its compact RF wireless camera transmitter engineered for high-quality, low-latency video contribution across a broad range of live production settings.
Building on Vislink's RF pedigree, the pocket-sized, lightweight unit delivers either 4K UHD HDR or dual HD HDR using efficient HEVC (H.265) encoding, while retaining the resilience required for major sports, music, news and other high-profile live events. Its small footprint is designed for scenarios where size, weight and power consumption are key.
"CLIQ has been designed to give production teams a flexible RF transmitter that integrates cleanly into existing broadcast workflows," said Craig Hallas, Director of Product Management at Vislink. "It's a practical evolution of our compact RF portfolio, focused on predictable performance, image quality, and ease of deployment in demanding live environments."
For modern broadcast workflows, CLIQ supports 12G-SDI for 4K UHD up to 50/60p or dual 3G-SDI inputs for HD. Its HEVC implementation supports 10-bit 4:2:2 and HDR formats including HLG and S-Log, helping preserve image fidelity while making efficient use of RF spectrum.
Robust COFDM transmission, paired with multiple modulation standards and selectable bandwidths, enables configuration for everything from large outside broadcasts to tightly managed RF environments.
Measuring just over 100 mm and optimised for low power draw, CLIQ can be mounted on smaller, lightweight cameras, as well as used in handheld, body-worn, vehicle-mounted and aerial applications such as drones. Its compact design and straightforward setup suit fast-moving productions that demand rapid deployment.
The transmitter features a wide RF tuning span of around 1.35–7.8 GHz (subject to licensing). Configuration is handled via an intuitive web interface over Ethernet or Wi‑Fi, helping to reduce setup time on location.
For protected transmission, CLIQ offers industry-standard encryption options including AES-128 and AES-256, along with BISS modes. It integrates with Vislink's existing RF receivers and IP-based infrastructure, allowing adoption without major workflow changes.
