BBC Asian Network Launches Search For On-Air Presenters

BBC Asian Network is bringing back Asian Network Represents after a three-year break, launching its biggest search yet for on-air presenters.

The station is seeking 12 new voices who are passionate about British Asian culture, music and entertainment, and confident in engaging both new and existing listeners.

The initiative underscores the network's commitment to nurturing fresh talent, offering successful applicants the chance to broadcast on the UK’s largest Asian radio station and a springboard into national radio and the wider industry.

Between April 2026 and March 2027, the 12 chosen presenters will each front four editions of Asian Network Represents, airing every Tuesday from 10pm to 11pm.

Asian Network Represents will replace One More Chai, which concludes on Tuesday 31 March after two years on the network.

Applications are open now via www.bbc.co.uk/represents and close at 11.59pm on Thursday 22 February. The opportunity is open to everyone, regardless of radio or podcasting experience.

Ahmed Hussain, Head of Asian Network, said: "Asian Network Represents is such an exciting brand for us and I’m genuinely thrilled to be bringing it back to the station. Finding the next generation of presenting talent is crucial, not just for Asian Network but for the wider industry. There are so many incredible British Asian voices out there and we want to give them the platform, support and space to grow and get paid for it! For everyone who has been asking for the opportunity, this is your chance! We will continue championing voices from across the UK, so wherever you are and whatever your experience, I encourage you to send in a demo.

"I'd also like to thank Gura and SMASH for their work on One More Chai team over the past two years, I'm sure they’ll both continue to bring fantastic energy to their weekend shows."

From April, listeners can hear Asian Network Represents every Tuesday, 10pm–11pm, on Asian Network and via BBC Sounds.
