Encompass Digital Media Appoints Chief Operating Officer

Encompass Digital Media has announced the appointment of David Hunter as its new chief operating officer.

A technology and operations leader with more than 30 years' experience, Hunter will take responsibility for the delivery of Encompass’ end-to-end services across live events, broadcast operations and digital media workflows. His remit will include driving operational excellence, scalability and consistent client outcomes as demand grows for reliable, mission-critical media services.

Before joining Encompass, Hunter was chief technology officer at Locality, where he led engineering, product and ad operations. He was the technical architect behind the launch of LocalX, an AI-powered platform designed to simplify local video campaign planning across more than 150 streaming publishers.

He previously held the roles of CIO and CTO at AMC Networks, overseeing global technology and operations including enterprise systems, digital products, the media supply chain, broadcast operations and customer service. During his tenure, AMC implemented a cloud-based architecture to support a hybrid distribution strategy integrating streaming, linear and advanced advertising platforms.
