MD Entertainment Deploys Imagine Communications' Versio Integrated Playout Platform

News Image
PT MD Entertainment Tbk (IDX: FILM), Indonesia's first publicly listed film production house and a prominent force in Southeast Asian media, selected Imagine Communications' Versio™ integrated playout platform to support its recently acquired channel, PT MDTV Media Television (previously known as NET TV).

The Versio deployment enabled MD Entertainment to fast-track the launch of MDTV’s broadcast operations and go to air within just three months.

MD Entertainment acquired MDTV as part of a strategic expansion into television broadcasting and a goal of bringing high-quality storytelling to free-to-air TV. With an ambitious timeline and a clear mandate for stability and scalability, the company turned to Imagine Communications and the Versio platform.

"Imagine Communications' established track record with NET TV and convenient, in-region support were strong factors in choosing a technology partner to help meet our short- and long-term requirements," said Bambang A. Nugroho, vice president, technology, MDTV. "In addition, the Versio platform's industry-proven reliability and ease of integration gave us both the stability and confidence we needed to hit our launch window without compromise."

The initial deployment at MDTV features a 1+1 fully redundant Versio integrated playout system, delivering SDI-based outputs, advanced graphics capabilities, and embedded instances of Imagine’s field-proven ADC™ automation software, which integrates with more devices and business systems than any other automation product. An intuitive, web-based master control surface allows for simplified and streamlined workflow from creation to air.

Whether building a new playout center or planning an infrastructure refresh, broadcasters and media companies around the world rely on Versio. A fully software-based integrated playout ecosystem, Versio offers a powerful turnkey solution — from ingest and media asset management to playout, master control, and graphics. The platform is available as an on-prem server or deployable in cloud-hosted environments, supports all formats from HD-SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 to MPEG-2 transport streams, and delivers tiered solutions to fit any budget and channel creation need.

The Imagine playout system at MDTV was implemented in association with local Imagine Communications partner and systems integrator PT Alfatech Mediatama. A planned second phase expansion will add ingest, motion graphics, and media asset management to the scalable, future-proof playout ecoystem.

Attendees at BroadcastAsia 2025 (May 27-29, Singapore Expo) can meet with Imagine experts at Booth 5B4-5 to explore the company’s broad portfolio of innovative production and playout solutions.
