FOR-A TO LAUNCH 3D VIRTUAL STUDIO AT IBC
FOR-A, manufacturers of the highly successful 2D virtual studio digiWarp-EX, have announced the launch of their new NT based 3D virtual studio ‘digiStorm’.
The system will be shown for the first time at IBC 2001 in Amsterdam.
Aimed at the virtual studio customers that need full 3D but have a limited budget, the system is designed with a similar philosophy to digiWarp, making it low cost and easy to use, maintain and set up.
Using a combination of FOR-A hardware and new Brainstorm Multimedia software the product will provide revolutionary 3D capabilities to the broadcast and corporate television markets.
The system features an NT based operating system using a new GUI based on Brainstorms highly successful and accepted Virtual Studio software. The new user interface is designed to allow operators with little 3D experience to be able to set up customised 3D virtual sets quickly and easily.
FOR-A have created unique new hardware components to allow the kind of 3D processing normally only associated with the highest level SGI Onyx 2 products. This new hardware will also be utilised in a series of new FOR-A 3D graphics products.
Existing digiWarp-EX users will also be able to upgrade their 2D system to the new 3D by simply replacing two main components and optionally enhancing their camera tracking/sensor system. (CD)
