Orad's Cost-Effective Morpho 3D Character Generator To Make Its Debut At IBC2008

Orad Hi-Tec Systems, a provider of 3D real-time graphic solutions, has announced that it will be unveiling Morpho 3D, the company's new 3D character generator (CG), at IBC2008.
Starting at €15,000 Morpho 3D is the first SD/HD CG to feature true 3D graphic capabilities, presenting a shift in 3D graphics workflows.
Morpho 3D is provided in a 2U rack-mountable chassis and is extremely easy to operate. It is the first 3D CG to offer uncompromised creation and playback capabilities based on a single application. Morpho 3D brings ideas and designs to air in the easiest and most elegant way. Powerful real-time 3D graphics rendering, smart graphic design tools, and flexible playout capabilities are all packed together, enabling a fast and easy workflow.
Avi Sharir, President and CEO of Orad, said: "With the growing number of TV stations over the past few years and their need to stand out from the crowd, the demand for high-quality 3D graphics has picked up significantly.
"At the same time, TV stations are looking for solutions that are simple, easy to use, and do not require high cost of ownership. To date, you could either choose a simple 2D character generator or a high-end, yet more complicated, 3D system. Morpho 3D is positioned to bridge this gap and brings the best from all sides."
The availability of Morpho 3D in a variety of languages, such as English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, German and Chinese, is an essential component of making the system as easy to use as possible.
Through on-screen indicators, Morpho 3D offers an easy-to-follow yet detailed online tutorial that provides instructions of what buttons to push and what values to change, thus allowing the operator to self-train.
Morpho 3D follows the classical page-based 2D CG workflow but enhances it with much more powerful 3D graphic capabilities. Users build a Morpho 3D page simply by bringing any files from video input, video clips, Photoshop layers and 3D Collada into the layer structure. The user can drag and drop images and RSS feeds directly from the internet browser into the design window. Through the system's easy-to-understand positioning, rotation, and scaling tools, the user can lay out elements exactly as required by the design.
Morpho 3D is a compact 2-U rack-mountable system. The Morpho 3D system supports both HD and SD formats, is equipped with a built-in linear keyer, and is able to play back video clips from all commonly used file formats, such as AVI, QuickTime, MPEG and others.
Sharir added: "Morpho 3D is a brand-new product resulting from an intense two-year development phase. The system offers a new and refreshing approach to how real-time 3D graphics should be created in today's television production environment."
The new MORPHO 3D will be unveiled at IBC2008 Stand 9.E20/IP223.
