BBC SPORT ANNOUNCE TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS

BBC Sport have announced two new roles within their New Media, Development and Sport News department.
Graeme Reid-Davies will become Executive Editor, Sports News and New Production. He will continue to run the Sports News area but will also take on a number of key new responsibilities.
In order to reflect the central role Development plays in the future of BBC Sport, Peter Allden’s existing role has been enhanced and will be redesignated to become Editor of Development. His new responsibilities include: leading the multi media creative team from ideas development through to production; acting as the focal point across the division for new documentary ideas; and managing the sports Library, helping to drive through the continuing process of modernisation.
Pete Clifton will continue in his current role as Editor of Sport Online where he will build on the success of the last year with a raft of impressive new editorial initiatives.
All three positions report to Andrew Thompson, Head of New Media, Sports News and Development. He said: “These new roles reflect the growing importance of new media and development within BBC Sport and will help keep the BBC at the forefront of sports broadcasting innovation.” (CD)
