Barix Unveils New SIP Audio Endpoint

News Image
Barix has unveiled its new SIP Audio Endpoint, the company's most flexible and feature-rich SIP interface solution to date.

Available immediately, the SIP Audio Endpoint enables integrators to seamlessly and cost-effectively extend SIP-based VoIP (Voice over IP) telephone systems with functionality including intercom, paging, music-on-hold and other audio applications. Barix will demonstrate the new device in stand 8-K275 at next month's ISE 2020 exhibition in Amsterdam, with its North American exhibition debut slated for booth 19140 at the ISC West security industry trade show in Las Vegas in March.

Barix has a proven history of providing robust yet inexpensive interface hardware that bridges analog audio inputs and outputs with SIP phone systems, turning equipment ranging from amplifiers and doorbells to paging stations and meeting room systems into SIP-enabled client endpoints. Example use cases include the ability to make announcements through a particular loudspeaker by dialing it from a SIP phone, or having an analog talk station automatically dial a specific VoIP extension. The new SIP Audio Endpoint builds on this tradition by offering new codec support and expanded functionality on a modern hardware foundation.

The SIP Audio Endpoint supports a broad range of audio codecs including Opus, G.711, G.722 and GSM. Contact closures on the device allow triggering from physical interfaces such as call buttons, while features such as DTMF tone dialing support maximize integration possibilities. The SIP Audio Endpoint is also compatible with Singlewire Software’s InformaCast and Syn-Apps’ Revolution platforms, enabling the devices to be used as endpoints with these enterprise-class mass notification solutions.

The SIP Audio Endpoint family is powered by Barix’s high-performance IPAM 400, the company’s latest generation IP Audio Module, and is designed to meet today’s increasing IT security requirements. The first model in the new series, the mono, bi-directional MA400 SIP Audio Endpoint, features a microphone or line-level analog audio input and five watt (eight ohm) or line-level analog output.
