Looking Ahead To IBC

News Image
The industry is blessed with a number of international trade shows and the next 'date in the diary' is just around the corner – IBC in Amsterdam.

Lighting will undoubtedly be one of the top priorities for many of the 50,000 visitors, with VELVET Light's brand-new EVO LED certain to catch the eye. EVO shares many characteristics that have made VELVET Light the go-to professional LED lighting source throughout the industry. Class-leading IP54 weather protection, soft & uniformed light output & passive cooling - to name a few.

EVO expands on this with a technology called '5LED', combining Red, Green, Blue, White & Cool White LEDs into a single panel. Moving away from 'daylight' & 'tungsten', ‘5LED’ opens up many exciting possibilities. Colour temperature is much-expanded, covering a 2,500°K - 10,000°K range. Available, too, is a vast choice of colours – replication of traditional gels - and lighting effects such as paparazzi camera flashes & fire flicker.

EVO 1, EVO 1 Studio, EVO 2 & EVO 2 Studio are shipping now, soon to be joined by EVO 2x2.

Fabric-style LED lights are another emerging category. Building on their popular FL-600 & FL-1200, Korean manufacturer Fomex present RollLite. RollLite is uniquely flexible & scrunch-able, allowing it to be moulded and placed directly into obscure positions – in locations where traditional lighting cannot be used.

With the included X-Mount, RollLite can be used taut on light stands like any panel or tile light, delivering maximum usage in all scenarios.

The durable fabric design of RollLite is not only practical in use, but for storage & travel, too. RollLite can be folded or rolled into any shape and easily transported from one location to the next. The IP64 rain and dust protection rating allows RollLite to be safely operated in a dusty environment or outside in the rain.

Supplied as a complete ready-to-use kit, RollLite is ideal for users who require the most-versatile lighting solution, ready for any situation.

UK company Cinelex are to exhibit at IBC for the first time, showcasing their wireless DMX products. The success of Cinelex can be linked to the simple, no nonsense, ease-of-use of their products. Continual customer feedback is crucial, too, with their latest products born from these industry conversations.

Acting as a translator between Art-Net & LumenRadio, the Cinelex SKYBRIDGE allows users to control LumenRadio-enabled light fixtures and SKYNODE’s with an Art-Net compatible mobile-based control application.

In the same way SKYNODE & SKYNODE-RDM turns any DMX light fixture into a wirelessly-controllable unit, SKYNODE-TX transforms any existing DMX control desk into a wireless system – breathing new life into existing investments.

SKYFI plugs into a DMX-capable light fixture and brings Art-Net wireless capability, enabling users to use any smartphone or tablet – connected as a regular Wi-Fi access point – to control the light fixture from a built-in browser-based control application.

2019, so far, has been another big year for our industry – and with every major manufacturer, reseller, broadcaster, production company and rental house attending in some form; IBC is sure to provide more talking points.
