Movietech Supports Dick Pope On Peterloo
Movietech supported Director of Photography Dick Pope BSC on Peterloo, Director Mike Leigh's forthcoming dramatisation of the pro-democracy rally held at St Peter's Field, Manchester in 1819.
Featuring a crew including actors Rory Kinnear and Maxine Peake and Producer Georgina Lowe, Peterloo is a return to period drama for Leigh and is the Director's largest budget film to date. Marking the 200th anniversary of a foundational event in modern British political history, the film details events surrounding the peaceful rally that tragically resulted in the bloody deaths of 15 protesters at the hands of the army.
For principal photography, Movietech provided the Cinematographer with a comprehensive digital package built around Arri’s Alexa SXT and Alexa Mini paired with the company's superb Leica Summicron lenses.
Commenting on supporting the feature, Movietech Managing Director John Buckley said: "It's a pleasure to be once again working with Dick Pope on this fantastic looking Mike Leigh drama. The Alexa package has been a great choice and an excellent match for our Leica Summicron lenses which deliver stunning results all round."
