DPP To Focus On Adoption Of IMF At IBC

News Image
The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) is to focus on the adoption of IMF for broadcast and online at the upcoming IBC 2018 in Amsterdam.

The organisation's presence at IBC comes after a collaboration with SMPTE (Society for Motion Picture and Television Engineers) on a groundbreaking new specification for the mastering and international exchange of content for broadcast and online, SMPTE TSP 2121:2018 IMF Application DPP (ProRes).

The DPP already has a community of over 50 companies committed to the adoption of the new specification, and the DPP will offer that community two exclusive insight events:

Exclusive IMF Briefing
On Friday 14 September, the DPP will hold an IMF Breakfast Briefing at the brand new Soho House Amsterdam, enabled by DPP Member Deluxe. The briefing will give DPP Members unique intelligence on which broadcasters and content platforms are moving first to adopt the IMF specification.

IMF Product Show Tour
DPP Members will also benefit from an IMF Product Show Tour, showcasing IMF products throughout the broadcast and online workflow on Member's stands in Halls 7&8.

The DPP will also offer an opportunity for the wider industry to celebrate the publication of the SMPTE/DPP IMF specification:

IMF Drinks Reception
There will be a DPP drinks reception on the Qvest Media stand 3.B40 on Sunday 16 September at 17:00 Sign up here: dppibc2018drinks.eventbrite.co.uk.co.uk.

As well as IMF, the DPP will also be discussing two other key industry challenges at IBC:

Cyber Security
The DPP's Managing Director, Mark Harrison, will take part in the IBC Cyber Security Forum. He will feature on the panel Cyber security and collaboration 'Is information sharing the way forward?' on Thursday 13 September.

Monetisation of Online Video
DPP will hold its annual IBC Executive Dinner at Soho House on Friday 14 September. The invitation-only dinner, enabled by DPP Member Mindtree, will bring together 20 senior executives from across the industry to discuss the monetisation of online content, with special guest speaker Lindsay Pattison, Chief Transformation Officer, WPP. A report from the dinner will be available to DPP Members and Mindtree customers in October 2018.

IBC attendees wishing to meet the DPP to discuss forthcoming work and events should contact the DPP's new Head of Delivery & Growth Rowan de Pomerai ([email protected]) to set up a meeting.
