4MC POST ‘STAR WARS EPISODE 2 – ATTACK OF THE CLONES’
4MC sound studios have been working on the ADR for the highly anticipated sequel, ‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’ by JAK Production.
The feature film is due for release late Spring 2002. The ADR sessions lasted several days and included cast members Samuel L Jackson, Christopher Lee and Ewan McGregor. Director George Lucas, Producer Rick McCallum and Sound Supervisor Matt Wood also flew in from Skywalker Sound, California, to attend the sessions.
Matt specified that 4MC use Gallery Software’s ADR Studio package with ProTools. He brought with him a single 18 gigabyte drive holding the digitised pictures and the ADR Studio script files ready to import into the Sound Department’s ProTools system.
4MC’s team comprising of Chris Roberts, Tony Anscombe and Michael Maroussas recorded the sessions in Studio 1 using AMS Neve Digital Film Console. The 18 gigabyte drive was hooked up to the studio’s ProTools system. The ADR Studio software was then immediately able to control ProTools from Matt’s ADR Studio scripts, automating all aspects such as record enabling tracks, generating beeps, and automatically naming takes.
