Audio Ltd Introduce The DDX1010

News Image
Audio Ltd introduced the dual channel DDX1010 MRC true diversity receiver to the 1010 digital range at NAB 2017.

The DDX1010 has four receiver strips for true diversity operation and the design has been squeezed into the same housing as the single channel DX1010 true diversity receiver.

The DDX1010 receiver has the same performance characteristics as the DX1010 single channel MRC (maximal ratio combining) true diversity receiver, but with an enhanced switching bandwidth of 224MHz to cover the whole of the UHF band 470-694MHz.

The DDX1010 also has built-in tracking filters dedicated to each receiver to ensure the best performance even when frequency selection on each receiver is at differing ends of the switching bandwidth.

The DDX1010 receiver has the same intuitive menu as the other products in the 1010 digital range making the system setup very simple. The scan modes allow the sound recordist to check for any interference in their location and then the frequency can be set from the scan menu.

The 1010 digital system utilises the unique Audio Ltd proprietary digital modulation scheme which provides industry leading 2mS end-to-end delay and can operate up to 20 channels within an 8MHz TV channel without compromising audio quality or range.

The TX1010 transmitter also incorporates a back-up recorder, which records onto a micro SD card with timecode. A 4GB card is capable of storing over 24 hours of audio. The free mic2wav converter utility converts the compressed data to BWAV format in a short space of time.

The TX1010 can also be controlled via an iOS app available free, from the Apple™ Store. The App allows the user to set various parameters including microphone gain, LF Cut, TX on/off, and the TX1010 can also be named via the App. Other parameters are also due to be added to the list in due course.

Also shown for the first time at NAB was the RK1010 8 channel 1U rack frame capable of housing up to four DDX1010 dual receivers, or a combination of dual and single channel receivers. The RK1010 incorporates a wideband distribution amplifier and the rack also has the option of a Dante output.
