Exhibition Debut For Custom Consoles' Module-R Lite

News Image
Custom Consoles has announced that its Module-R Lite studio control desks will receive their Middle East exhibition debut at CABSAT 2017. At the show, which takes place in Dubai, 21 – 23 March, the company will also display the latest version of the EditOne postproduction-suite desk, a MediaPost free-standing monitor mount and an example of the scalable MediaWall monitor display.

Module-R is a mix-and-matchable control room furniture system. The series allows broadcast control-room furniture to be configured to meet specific shapes and dimensions from a selection of pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desktop-level pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10U chassis capacity.

Module-R Lite desks are available with the same range of matching equipment pods and storage modules as Module-R, with correspondingly adjusted front-to-back dimensions if required. Both product ranges enable systems integrators to create control-room desks from a selection of standard interlocking elements, including single-bay, dual-bay and triple-bay desk sections with front or rear access, work surfaces in matching widths, corner desk sections in 90 degree, 45 degree or 30 degree angles with worktops, slide-out keyboard drawers, equipment pods with 3U, 6U or 8U capacity, 19 in storage pedestals and 27U equipment bays.

The latest version of the EditOne desk has an enhanced surface. It follows the existing structural configuration but has powder-coated underside legs and pods. Worksurface and shelf finishes are now available with oak-effect foil applied by a thermoform press which follows the contours of the base it to which it is applied. The EditOne range of furniture is designed for flat-pack delivery which allows fast despatch to site. Assembly can be performed quickly and easily by the customer using the supplied Allen key and screwdriver. An on-site assembly service is available.

Custom Consoles' MediaWall enables flat-screen monitor displays of practically any width to be constructed from standard horizontal and vertical support elements. MediaWall can be deployed as a fully self-supporting structure or coupled directly to the studio wall. Individual screens can be positioned so that their edges meet to form a continuous horizontal display limited only by the boundary of the monitor panel itself. All wiring is fully concealed and can enter or leave the structure at any desired point. MediaWall is available in a silver-anodised or black-powder coated finish and in any specified element widths.

Developed from Custom Consoles' MediaWall, MediaPost is a free-standing monitor mount constructed from extruded aluminium profiles, black or silver anodised, forming a 1,806 millimetre high rigid column. These are supported by a 700 mm wide x 590 mm front-to-back base fitted with rear wheels to allow easy positioning. Loudspeaker mounts are available if required. MediaPost is height-adjustable to ensure operators' sight lines are optimised when using tilting screen mounts. Cables can be fully concealed behind removable covers. Like MediaWall, MediaPost comes with a two-year guarantee against component failure during normal use.

Gary Fuller, Sales Manager, Custom Consoles, said: "Our standard Module-R desk has a 1,200 millimetre front-to-back depth and allows control surfaces such as vision switchers or audio mixers to be embedded into the main horizontal worksurface. Module-R Lite is identical in structure to the standard Module-R range but based on 930 mm front-to-back desk dimensions. This is ideal for production staff working in support services such as graphics and editing. The option of fitting monitor display screens above the rear edge of Module-R and Module-R Lite desks makes even more efficient use of space."
