BBC Two Commissions New Mary Berry Show

News Image
BBC Two has confirmed Mary Berry is to host a new six-part show, Mary Berry Everyday.

This series will see Mary share her short cuts and tips to demonstrate how easy it is to make the food we cook every day go from being ordinary, to something special. Her recipes will range from healthy and wholesome, to easy-to-make crowd pleasers as well as her family classics, to those dishes which are a little more indulgent.

Across six episodes, Mary will travel to her mother's childhood home in Scotland to enjoy some venison, salmon and whisky; she will don a white suit to try her hand at bee-keeping in search of honey; she will look at the history of the great British pie; and she will also return to her own childhood when she learns to milk a goat and make her own goat's cheese.

Mary Berry's Everyday has been commissioned by Patrick Holland, Channel Editor, BBC Two and Donna Clark, Acting Head of Formats and Features. It will be executive produced by Tom Edwards, Commissioning Editor, Formats and Features, with Karen Ross as Executive Producer, Emma Boswell as Series Producer and Dave Crerar as Series Director. Sidney Street will produce the series.

Patrick Holland said: "I am thrilled that Mary is returning to BBC Two to share her magic. Her everyday recipes are inspirational and delicious and her series will be a real treat for the audience."

Tom Edwards added: "It's wonderful to share Mary's own much-loved, 'go to' dishes with a BBC Two audience, each one suffused with a personal perspective or story. Who wouldn't want a little bit of Mary Berry magic, everyday?"

Karen Ross, Managing Director of Sidney Street, commented: "This is Mary Berry at her best. Delicious, inspirational food cooked with the flair, warmth, humour and endless energy of the country's best loved cook."

BBC Books will publish the accompanying book in January 201. It follows on from the previous bestsellers Mary Berry: Foolproof Cooking, Mary Berry: Absolute Favourites and Mary Berry Cooks.
