BBC One Commissions New Shows

News Image
BBC One has revealed details of a number of new commissions for its daytime schedule this Autumn and Winter.

The shows are Good Food For Good People (w/t), People Power (w/t), The Secret Life of the Hospital Bed (w/t), My Farm's Big Day Out (w/t), Hairy Bikers' Winter Warmers, and !mpossible.

In Good Food For Good People, the show will air on weekday mornings and will look at the issue of food waste and food banks, and those who use them.

People Power sees Dave Myers (one of the Hairy Bikers), Juliet Sargeant, Martyn Ashton and Nicki Chapman uncover inspirational volunteering projects around the UK. They will also help to transform one community in need.

The Secret Life of the Hospital Bed will follow four beds in four NHS hospitals throughout the UK. The series will feature the different patients occupying them and their personal journeys.

In My Farm's Big Day Out, two family-run farms will be in the spotlight as they prepare for one of the biggest events in their farming calendar. The aim? To win recognition and boost their business so they can ensure their legacy continues.

Airing on weekday afternoons, Si King and Dave Myers return for Hairy Bikers' Winter Warmers, where they will look at the recipes and stories behind some of the UK's greatest seasonal dishes, as well as some of the best loved international dishes.

!mpossible is a new quiz show, hosted by Rick Edwards, and will also air on weekday afternoons. A regular cast of 30 players will battle it out for a £10,000 prize where, as well as right and wrong, there are also !mpossible answers, which couldn't possibly be right...

Commenting on the commissions, Dan McGolpin, BBC Controller for Daytime and Early-Peak, said: "We are welcoming a number of new faces to BBC One Daytime's established line-up this Autumn and Winter. Rick Edwards hosts new quiz !mpossible with a regular cast of 30 diverse contestants, and in People Power Martyn Ashton, Juliet Sargent and Nicki Chapman join Hairy Biker Dave Myers in search of some of the most inspirational communities from around the UK."
