Maxtor open sales office in Moscow

Maxtor Corporation have opened a sales office in Moscow to provide in-country sales and technical support.
The office will allow Maxtor to expand its presence in the large and rapidly growing Russian market and to enhance services to existing and new customers.
“Russia is an important emerging market for Maxtor,” said Mike Cordano, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “With annual growth rates of over 20%, the PC market in Russia is very strong and represents an excellent growth opportunity for Maxtor. A local office will enable the company to take the lead on sales and technical support, allowing us to extend awareness of the Maxtor brand with the Russian IT community.”
Maxtor has been providing hard drives to the Russian market for several years, primarily through local distributors. In addition to sales and technical support, local service and logistics will also be managed from the Moscow office. The office will report into Maxtor’s EMEA group, under the direction of Didier Trassaert, vice president of EMEA sales.
“We are excited about the opening of our new office in Moscow,” said Trassaert. “With a dedicated sales and technical support team, Maxtor will be able to provide better service to existing distribution customers and to extend our technical expertise to Russian PC OEMs and local PC assemblers.”
