The DTG has handed out awards to industry firms at its 20th anniversary celebrations, which were held after the DTG Summit 2015: Driving Global CollaborVation.

Awards for Innovation, Collaboration and Partnership were given to companies and organisations that have excelled in helping the British public to enjoy the benefits of the digital TV age.

Richard Lindsay-Davies, CEO of the DTG, said: "It was a great privilege to mark the 20th anniversary of the DTG by presenting awards to Sky, BBC Digital, DVB, and our 11 original founders, for their valuable contributions to our industry."

David Docherty, Chairman of the DTG, said: "After an exciting and invaluable day on the current state of the digital media industry, it was a pleasure to see Sky, BBC and DVB receive recognition for the outstanding collaborative and innovative work they have produced."

More than 300 delegates from across the entertainment tech industries attended the DTG Summit 2015: Driving Global CollaborVation. This year's conference was dedicated to the DTG's mission of harnessing world class collaboration to drive innovation in digital media technology.

The Innovation Award, dedicated to companies which have driven innovation in a particular technology or sector, was given to Sky's Now TV for their over-the-top on demand TV via micro set-top boxes and apps.

The Collaboration Award, for companies that put aside commercial differences to succeed together, was given to BBC Digital for their continued collaborative efforts both in the UK and worldwide.

The Partnership Award, given to organisations the DTG works with that drive innovation through collaboration, was awarded to DVB for bringing together an industry in its early stages and pioneering a global standard worldwide.

The original founders of the DTG were each honoured with the Founders Award recognising their instrumental role in the formation of the Digital TV Group in 1995 as a pioneering force in the digital switchover in the UK.

The 14 original founders were: Baron John Birt, Michael Starks, Chris Daubney, Gordon Drury, Jim Beveridge, Graham Mills, Brian Green, Terry Hurley, Mike Windram, Peter Marchant, Bob Ely, Chris Hibbert, Bob Anderson and David Youlton (in memoriam).
