Strictly Come Dancing Returns To Elstree

Elstree Studios has announced it will once again host BBC Studios and Post Production for the latest series of the reality talent show Strictly Come Dancing.

The Beeb is providing full studio facilities, post production services and technical support from Elstree Studios to celebrate the show's tenth anniversary.
During its thirteen-week run, Strictly's Saturday night live performances and Sunday night results shows will beam from George Lucas Stage 2 at Elstree. The 15,825 square foot studio space houses the set and an audience of 750 people.
Now in its 12th series, the production set-up for Strictly includes 10 cameras to capture all the action, including one 30' MovieBird Technocrane, four pedestal cameras, a radio Steadicam and four other handheld/lightweight tripod cameras. An extra Hot Head camera was used for the Strictly launch show to capture overhead shots of the dance floor.
BBC Studios and Post Production provides nearly 50 radio mics, talkback services and six portable stage boxes, equipped with 40 mic inputs and 16 line outputs. At BBC Studios and Post Production’s BBC Elstree facility, the complex boasts ten Avid Symphony suites to meet turnaround post production requirements. Between them, the suites handle up to 100 hours of training material each week.
