Bird Studios Orders Mistika For Stereoscopic 3D Post Production

SGO UK has announced that Bird Studios, the Soho-based animation and special effects company has ordered a Mistika production suite, complete with stereoscopic 3D option for installation in its recently acquired Bateman Street premises. Pixelultion, SGO's premier UK reseller, will deliver and install the system.

Bird Studios is an award-winning creative studio with an international reputation working as media creators developing and producing services for digital content; as well as CGI animation and digital advertising which includes cross platform media to publish to the web, mobile, telephone, DVD, interactive CD, Cinema, terrestrial and satellite interactive TV, iPod, teletext and digital posters.

Bird Studio's investment follows hot on the heels of On Sight's purchase of a stereoscopic 3D Mistika post production system which will be used at the core of On Sight's stereoscopic data lab. Geoff Mills, Director of Sales and Operations for SGO UK, added: "SGO UK is very pleased to have yet another sale of Mistika for stereoscopic 3D production. Mistika is deservedly becoming the system of choice."
Mistika features the most advanced integrated stereoscopic 3D toolsets available to the post production market. The system incorporates real-time tools for grading, compositing and repairing stereoscopic images, including processes to adjust inter-ocular camera distance and correct geometry and colour errors between the left and right streams.
Mistika also has real-time, native work flows for RED camera and real-time 4K DPX colour grading. Announced at IBC 2009, Mistika now supports files from the Phantom high speed camera.
