ITN archive enters relationship with Al Jazeera

ITN Archive have announced a ground-breaking relationship with Middle East broadcaster Al Jazeera.
The relationship - initially for five years - will enable ITN Archive to license Al Jazeera's archive footage to its customers worldwide.
Al Jazeera has quickly gained an unparalleled reputation for its exclusive coverage from the Middle East and has generated some of the most iconic images of recent times. With a viewership of 35 million in the Arab world, it is the only independent Arabic language satellite news channel broadcasting out of the Middle East.
ITN Archive will have access to the entire Al Jazeera archive and will shortly be bringing the cream of the Al Jazeera back-catalogue to its London headquarters. The footage will be supported by full shotlists via ITN Archive's footage sales database,
The partnership means that, for the first time, ITN Archive’s customers around the world will have unparalleled access to the best of Al Jazeera’s output, fully searchable on ITN Archive’s online database and delivered at high speeds.
Alwyn Lindsey, Sales Director of the ITN Archive said: “We're extremely excited at the prospect of working closely with a cutting-edge partner like Al Jazeera, particularly with the current international focus on events in the Middle East”.
Mark Wood, ITN’s Chairman added: “This new relationship underlines the potential for growth in ITN’s enterprise businesses – including ITN Archive – through partnership building around the globe. This exciting project is just the kind of thing ITN is seeking to do more of in future”.
