Philips and LogicaCMG team up to deliver mobile multimedia

Royal Philips Electronics and LogicaCMG, global leader in messaging solutions, have announced an agreement to jointly supply multimedia messaging technology to mobile operators.
The OEM umbrella agreement will initially result in the integration of Philips' Platform4 Media Adapter transcoding engine into the LogicaCMG's Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC) product range. However both companies are exploring the opportunities for joint co-operation in the areas of multimedia streaming and embedded multimedia technologies for mobile devices.
For mobile operators, the joint delivery of the LogicaCMG and Philips technologies will enable interoperability across multiple handsets, providing their subscribers with optimal MMS quality of service.
