Thomson receive industry recognition for innovation

Thomson arrived at NAB 2003 with more than 15 new products, and left with six awards for innovation.
The Grass Valley brand M-Series iVDR intelligent video digital recorder, C2IP camera control system, and Spirit DataCine® 4K scanner module have received top honours from key magazine editors.
The M-Series iVDR, an entirely new class of product designed to replace mechanical video tape recorders (VTRs) in a variety of applications, won the Star Award from TV Technology magazine, the Editor's Pick-Of-The-Show award from Digital Television/TVB magazine, and the Vidy Award from Videography magazine.
The C2IP system, an Ethernet-based TCP/IP camera control system also won a Pick-Of-The-Show Award from Digital Television/TVB magazine as well as the Salute Award from Government Video magazine. The C2IP system uses industry-standard technologies to provide broadcasters and video professionals greater control over the ever-increasing numbers of cameras they use in their productions-and future proofs their camera control system investments.
The Spirit DataCine 4K scanner module won the Premiere Product award from Digital Cinema magazine. With more than 220 units installed worldwide, the Spirit DataCine system is the industry standard for high-resolution film transfers. Expanding the range of these capabilities, the Spirit 4K DataCine scanner module targets digital post production and digital cinematography applications with the intent of improving film-scanning technology.
