Tedial To Revolutionise Media Processing At IBC

Tedial is set to transform media processing and content value at IBC 2012.
The Media Asset Management (MAM), Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) and Business Process Management (BPM) software provider, continues to maximise the benefits of file-based platforms with its sophisticated suite of software products and new enhancements at IBC 2012.
Over the last five years, technologies available to broadcasters have evolved from primitive archive systems through increasingly powerful MAM solutions to workflow and business process management. This has culminated in a focus on Cloud services, many of which will be demonstrated at this year’s IBC. In recognition of Tedial’s involvement in these industry areas over an 11-year span, the company is headlining its presence at IBC 2012 under the banner: Transforming media processing and content value.
Tedial is one of very few independent companies that can genuinely claim to have home-grown software products to achieve this aspiration. The company will show how its MPM product provides the ideal integration mechanism using the company’s unique enterprise integration bus specifically designed for the broadcast world and currently used by many of its clients. The resulting file-based platform in turn enables the MPM workflow engines to automate many essential media processes.
Tedial’s MAM component Tarsys will demonstrate how - using a standard web interface - either casual or expert operators can easily locate and then process content including simple editing, transcoding and more, thereby re-purposing content and adding value to it along the way. Tarsys also supports multiple data models and repositories to allow the easy creation of different independent areas inside the same MAM. Tarsys is designed to work in many languages and character sets making it truly international.
Tedial was one of the first companies to market a powerful workflow manager in Ficus. This has evolved to include Business Process Management capabilities and a new interactive workflow builder, which will be launched at the show. This enables operators or supervisors to modify or create complex workflows in order to adapt to the increasingly diverse requirements of a media facility.
Tedial will demonstrate that with the help of its content exchange software Media Amigo it can offer Cloud solutions. With the recent NORDIF3 project Tedial is creating a Private Cloud allowing a consortium of Scandinavian broadcasters to freely exchange programs for subsequent transmission.
Tedial will also showcase its HSM system AST and will highlight that system’s smart interaction with the Tarsys MAM, guaranteeing that content is retrieved efficiently.
