Nevion’s IP Media Edge Processor (VS909-IPME) is a multi-functional processing module in the Ventura family of modular media transport solutions that incorporates advanced techniques for the IP-domain processing and protecting of any IP encapsulated media flow. The VS909-IPME provides for the application of an unprecedented range of security, protection, duplication, address translation and quality assurance features including Forward Error Correction (FEC), Nevion’s Streaming Intelligent Packet Switching (SIPS), Launch Delay Offset (LDO), as well as multicast, unicast, VLAN, RTP, and more.

Focusing on processing IP flows to optimise network performance, the VS909-IPME is a key addition to Nevion’s universal video IP adapter, universal audio IP adapter, and universal MPEG-2/H.264 video/audio codec. It’s ideal for protecting the media network edge and providing the technology for IP networks to deliver the continuous quality performance demanded by professional broadcasters.

Nevion’s second-generation VideoIPath combines market-proven transport hardware with state-of-the-art web-based management and control, for complete end-to-end managed video services. Utilising health and network availability, awareness and control capability, VideoIPath bridges the gap between a transport infrastructure and core services of a media transport provider, making contribution transport simple and affordable by automating complex processes and eliminating the need for expensive specialised hardware.

VideoIPath’s new advanced path finding uses a shortest-path-first algorithm to provision the least costly path from source to one or more destinations, and performs diverse path routing to support Nevion’s Streaming Intelligent Protection Switching (SIPS). Additional new features include a redesigned map view with spot-finding functionality, advanced inventory capabilities, and a new user interface designed specifically for broadcast users.

Solutions such as the VS902, Nevion’s universal IP video transport platform with perfect video-over-IP protection and virtual element management, are integrated into the VideoIPath platform for streamlined services.


SDI-DVI-2/DVI-SDI-2
Nevion strengthens its industry-leading Flashlink optical transport family with a new solution supporting DVI/HDMI. The SDI-DVI-2/DVI-SDI-2 module provides optical transport of two DVI/HDMI signals, dual 3G/HD/SD-SDI to DV/HDMI signal conversion, and dual HDMI/DVI to 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal conversion with full monitoring capabilities. Used in a variety of Flashlink enclosures, the module can be deployed easily in any environment from outside broadcast solutions to throw-down boxes and wall mounts. The SDI-DVI-2/DVI-SDI-2 solutions features Nevion’s Flashlink hallmarks of reliability, low power consumption, and small form factors.
