New Sound Solution Revealed

A new sound solution is to be launched into the industry in a bid to eliminate irritating noise and allow 'front of house' use of essential equipment.
AV solution provider Mode-AL has developed the "ECS" range of soundproofed 19" rack enclosures that are not only unobtrusive, but also provide ventilation and cable access while achieving an impressive 36dB acoustic suppression across the audible range for any installation.
Mode-AL Managing Director David Lees said: "The need for racked equipment in noise-sensitive areas has long been an issue for recording studios, boardrooms and conference centres. We have delivered front of house rack cabinets for years, and in response to requests from many customers we have now developed a system that includes a high degree of noise isolation, which vastly increases the number of installation possibilities."
The ECS cabinets are available in a choice of finishes to suit the installation décor and feature lockable smoked glass doors front and rear, with air-tight gaskets to prevent sound spill. Side panels are lined with high-density polyurethane foam to provide excellent sound absorption and a high mass barrier to extend attenuation too much lower frequency ranges.
Cable gaskets are fitted with Poron memory foam to maintain acoustic integrity. The cabinet is fitted with two temperature-controlled variable-speed fans with an acoustically ducted airflow system to ensure the equipment remains at its optimum operating conditions without adding to the noise floor. A dust filter on the input side of the airflow can be easily removed from the cabinet for cleaning.
"We have provided soundproof enclosures on an ad hoc basis for many different applications over the last decade," Lees added.

By standardising our system within a range we enable customers to select the most appropriate product for their application rather than assemble a custom design each and every time from scratch.
