Focal International Call For Awards Nominations

The international Federation of Commercial Audio-visual Libraries, FOCAL, is calling for entries for its ninth annual FOCAL International Awards, in association with AP Archive.
The Awards celebrate the best use of archive footage material in a variety of genres, and also recognises the researchers, technicians and producers that access, maintain and use this precious resource.
The deadline for entries is 1 December 2011, while the glittering award ceremony will be held on 2 May 2012 at the Lancaster London Hotel in London.
Julie Lewis, General Manager, FOCAL International, said: “The Awards have become an unmissable event in the world of footage. They offer the chance to raise entrants’ profiles amongst the biggest names in the business around the world and to shine a spotlight on the great work being done, both on screen and behind the scenes.”
The Award categories include: Best Use of Footage in a Factual Production; in an Entertainment or Drama Production and in an Arts Production; Best Use of Sports Footage; Best Archive Restoration / Preservation Project; and Lifetime Achievement.
