UK Firms Tune Latin Audiences Into The Best Of British Broadcast Technology

A number of the UK's leading digital TV firms will hope to tune international audiences into the UK's TV production and transmission expertise, by taking part in the Broadcast & Cable Show, Latin America's largest TV, radio and telecoms fair held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from August 23 to 25.
Under the banner, UK Technology, 25 companies brought together by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will showcase a wide spectrum of innovative television technology ranging from camera cables to satellite dishes, location recording to complex software applications and simple connectors.
The UK Pavilion, where their products and services will be exhibited, is located at stand B27.
Susan Haird, Acting Chief Executive of UK Trade & Investment, said: "The companies taking part in this event are some of the best known names in broadcast technology. I am confident they will successfully demonstrate the vibrancy, innovative and expertise of the UK's technology sector. Investments in the TV industry will keep growing at a rate above 50% per year until 2014, not only because of the sports events, but in keeping the pace of the digital television network expansion across Brazil. This means there has never been a better time for technology firms to consider growing their businesses in this region."
The event comes as the International Broadcast Centre for the London Olympics is completed and attention shifts to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics. Sport has always driven innovation in television technology and Britain has always led the world in sporting innovation, from the very first sports outside broadcast in 1937 to the plans for the most connected coverage at London 2012.
The companies taking part include: Amberfin, Argosy Components, Bentley Walker, Broadcast Networks, Bryant Unlimited, Canford Group, Digital TV Labs, E-mediavision, Emotion Systems, ETL Systems, Gearhouse Broadcast, Gigasat, Livewire Digital, Mosses & Mitchell, Novella SatComs, O-Video, Object Matrix, Quantel, Quicklink, Screen Subtitling Systems, Stream Communications, Trilogy Communciations, TSL, Vislink and WTS.
