Low Budget Film For Virgin Media Shorts

An ultra-low budget Northern Ireland filmmaker David McCrea has seen his second short film accepted for a national competition.
The short, entitled Closet Sufferer was made for a budget of just £100 and was written and directed by Mr McCrea, produced by Bertrand Lassallette-Desnault of Supernova Productions with Director of Photography Conor Rotherham.
The comedy tells the story of an anxious man, who, when nature calls, is forced to confront his fear of public toilets.
The film stars Mark Byatt with Robert Render, Matt Faris and Emma Little.
David's first short film The Carnival Queen was made with funding through Northern Ireland Screen.
The penny-pinching movie is going forward to the Virgin Media Shorts competition, which is supported by the UK Film Council.
It is a short film competition that champions undiscovered talent, giving the ultimate winner the chance to have his/her work shown in cinemas, on TV, online and on mobiles (via the mobile internet).
The prizes in detail are that 12 film makers will win a chance to show their work on 214 cinema screens nationwide, one lucky winner lands £30,000 to make their next film and one 'People's Choice' winner takes home thousands of pounds worth of new film kit.
