Wall To Wall Plans 'Big Spring Clean'

Top UK independent producer Wall To Wall, part of the Shed Media Group, has been commissioned to make a series for BBC FOUR entitled The Big Spring Clean.
Fronted by art historian and presenter Andrew Graham Dixon, it is for broadcast in Spring 2010.
Wall To Wall have gained exclusive access to one of the National Trust's gems - Petworth House in Sussex.
Every autumn, the National Trust puts its 300 houses 'to bed'. But it's far from time for a rest. What happens after the visitors have gone is extraordinary. It's the biggest spring clean in the world and it requires not just elbow grease, but in-depth specialist knowledge of conservation science - and an understanding of the unique history of each house, its objects and grounds.
Andrew Graham Dixon will roll up his sleeves and work alongside the specialists and cleaners who toil through the winter to ensure that the house is 'just so' when it re-opens to the public in March 2010.
The Big Spring Clean delivers a privileged insight into Petworth's history and also into the ways in which preparations are made to safeguard its treasures for the future.
Wall To Wall drove bumper audiences to BBC Four this autumn with Electric Dreams, the series which explored how the technological revolution of the 1970s, 80s and 90s transformed Britain's homes and family life.
The show delivered one of the channel's biggest of the year earning double the slot average.
Leanne Klein, Head of Factual at Wall To wall and Executive Producer of both series, said: "The Big Spring Clean will lift the lid on the secret life of one of our greatest country houses from behind the velvet rope. Andrew is passionate about Petworth's amazing collection of treasures - and his enthusiasm for joining the specialist cleaning team over the winer should make the series a big hit with viewers."
In further commissions news for Wall To Wall, two of its most beloved and successful series have received double orders, guaranteeing their presence on UK screens right into 2011.
Two new ten-part series of genealogy super hit Who Do You Think You Are? have been secured to air in summer 2010 and 2011 respectively, representing the 7th and 8th seasons.
And finally, BBC1's high rating long-running drama New tricks is back on the agenda for at least the couple of years with two new eight-part series commissions for the show, starring Amanda Redman and Dennis Waterman, set to deliver in July 2010 and July 2011, respectively.
