Chief Launches New In-Wall Display Mounting System

Chief, a brand of Legrand | AV, has announced the availability of its new Tempo™ Flat Panel In-Wall Single-Box Mount System, designed for commercial and higher education applications.

The UL 2442 Listed solution supports small to medium-sized displays in both landscape and portrait orientations, providing integrators with a streamlined approach to in-wall display installations. The system combines display mounting hardware, in-wall device storage and service access capabilities to simplify installation, improve workflow efficiency and support easier maintenance.

Traditional in-wall display installations can often involve structural modifications, scheduling challenges and complex servicing requirements. The Tempo system has been developed to address these issues by fitting within standard 16-inch on-centre stud framing without requiring stud cutting or structural changes.

Designed for both metal and wood stud construction, the mount allows the enclosure to be installed during the rough-in stage before drywall, with display installation and finishing completed later as part of a separate commissioning phase. This two-stage workflow is intended to reduce installation conflicts and better align with commercial construction schedules.

The system also includes built-in post-installation adjustments for levelling, plumb and lateral shift, helping reduce rework where site conditions differ from original plans.

For ongoing maintenance, the Tempo mount features a 10.65-inch service extension that allows displays to be pulled forward for access to connected components and cabling without removing the display from the wall. Lever Lock™ storage panels provide standardised in-wall device mounting, while knockouts on all sides support flexible conduit and cable routing.

The Tempo Flat Panel In-Wall Single-Box Mount System was also recognised at InfoComm 2026, receiving four industry awards, including the rAVe 2026 Best of InfoComm Award for Best Signage Mount or Infrastructure Solution and three Future 2026 Best of Show InfoComm Awards from AV Technology, Sound & Video Contractor and Digital Signage.

The awards recognise the system’s approach to improving installation efficiency and addressing long-standing challenges in commercial display mounting environments.
