MPC chosen for landmark BBC documentary

MPC have won the pitch to produce the CGI for 'Colosseum' a one-off landmark documentary for BBC Specialist Factual, co-produced with BBC Worldwide.
This follows on from MPC’s stunning graphics for BBC One’s series, 'Wild Weather'.
Directed by Tilman Remme, Colosseum will tell the story of the building of the Colosseum and of the inaugural games in 80AD, which lasted over a hundred days. The one-hour documentary will look at the gladiatorial games that dominated Roman society for over five centuries, with specific focus on the biggest amphitheatre ever built, the Colosseum in Rome.
The programme will look at the construction of the Colosseum in some detail and how the Romans brought in hundreds of slaves and wild animals to take part in the spectacle.
MPC will be producing a number of CGI sequences, which range from creating the Colosseum, crowd scenes in the arena, gladiatorial combat and ancient Rome burning.
Colosseum will air on BBC One towards the end of 2003.
