TASCAM Launches Dedicated Pro AV Sales & Support For UK Channel

The professional audio products division of TEAC Corporation, TASCAM, has established a dedicated sales and support service for the professional AV sector in the UK.
The initiative is intended to promote the advantages of the professional audio company's new solidstate recorder series, which offers next generation digital media storage, playout and network management capabilities for AV installer and integrator applications.
TASCAM AV UK, headed up by Sales and Support Manager Gary Maguire, is focussing resources on the installer and integrator sectors to promote the technological and operational advances offered by the new solidstate products in applications currently fulfilled by various disc media, cassette tape and commodity PCs. The new products offer the advantages of Compact Flash (CF) card and USB media with no moving components, file based media management, removable storage devices and network capabilities.
The TASCAM solidstate series comprises three 1U rackmount models, all employing CD card media, the HDR1, SSCDR1 and SSR1. The networkable HDR1 additionally provides USB, Ethernet and Euroblock connectivity and microphone inputs with discrete level controls. The SSCDR1 combines CF and CD recording and playback. All units feature RS232 and parallel control.
TASCAM AV UK operation provides dedicated sales and support for AV installers and integrators, responding to the sector's particular requirements. Service features include a dedicated AV sales and service number - 01923 438848 - 24-hour turnaround on product delivery or replacement, FOC loan stock in the event of products requiring repair and personal on-site training and technical support for TASCAM appointed installers.
TASCAM has a long established presence in the UK AV sector. The company first began supplying open reel tape recorders to installers over 50 years ago, and subsequently developed professional cassette, CD, DVD and MD based systems for the market, as well as amplification and control devices. TASCAM products of all types have found favour with installers, earning a reputation for exceptional reliability and build quality; around 75% of UK installers carry TASCAM product lines.
Commenting on the new AV service, UK Divisional Manager Tony Gravel, stated: "TASCAM has been steadily growing its business with the AV installer sector over the years. We have earned a reputation for solid products that sit in a rack providing years of unfaltering service, and we have provided that level of reliability for each new generation of media. Our solidstate products are designed to deliver that same reliability and to exploit to the maximum the advantages of file-based networking and connectivity in AV installations.
"A product like the HDR1 offers a totally new level of capability in managing the recording, playback and storage of audio via FTP connectivity, or for networked playback or recording applications; in bars, restaurants, conference suites and meeting facilities, museums and galleries, courtrooms, retail centres and numerous other environments."
