Legrand | AV Brings Luxul Switches To Utelogy Cloud, Extending Open AV Management
Utelogy has added support for Legrand | AV's Luxul networking switch range, bringing commercial-grade AV networking into the Utelogy cloud management environment. Legrand | AV has now outlined its view of the collaboration, stressing the value of open architectures and giving customers the freedom to work within the management tools they already use.
Legrand | AV said its Luxul professional AV networking switches are now supported within the Utelogy cloud-based AV management platform. Built through the Utelligence Alliance Partner Program, the integration advances Legrand | AV's commitment to interoperable AV infrastructure so integrators and operators can adopt Luxul within established workflows.
As AV-over-IP becomes mainstream, networking is increasingly central to the design, operation, and servicing of professional AV systems. Luxul is engineered for this role, providing the switching backbone AV environments rely on, so connecting that layer to where management happens is a logical next step.
"The network is no longer background infrastructure in a commercial AV environment. It's part of the system," said Steven Hoenig, Sr. Director, Portfolio Expansion Program Management, Legrand | AV. "Luxul is purpose-built for that role, delivering commercial-grade switches designed for how integrators actually deploy and manage technology. Supporting Utelogy means our customers can bring that networking layer into the cloud management workflow they're already familiar with. That's what open architecture delivers in practice."
Not all switches meet the demands of professional AV. Deployments require dependable PoE for cameras, displays and collaboration devices; deterministic performance for latency-sensitive AV-over-IP traffic; and management capabilities that let operations teams monitor, diagnose and maintain the network without leaving their AV management workflow.
Luxul managed switches are designed to satisfy those needs across corporate, education, government and other commercial settings. With the Utelogy integration, the network layer is no longer a blind spot in cloud-managed AV estates.
Through the new Luxul driver in Utelogy, integrators and operators can oversee Luxul AV switches alongside existing AV devices. Key capabilities include real-time port monitoring—covering per-port link state, transmit/receive rates and PoE status—updated every 15 to 30 seconds; live PoE power tracking on active ports for instant visibility of powered devices; firmware management triggered and monitored directly from the platform via HTTP, HTTPS or TFTP; and health diagnostics such as temperature, fan speeds, CPU load and uptime presented as actionable status. The integration also supports Utelogy's Active, Standby and Maintenance modes, allowing teams to tune monitoring behaviour across the deployment lifecycle and suppress false alerts during planned maintenance while maintaining accurate reporting.
Legrand | AV also provides its own Unified Cloud Platform for those seeking a native option for remote monitoring, management and diagnostics across its product ecosystem, but says customers should have the freedom to choose. Whether users prefer the Legrand | AV Unified Cloud Platform, Utelogy or another third-party system, the company is committed to making products—including Luxul AV networking—accessible within the tools organisations already rely on.
That open approach spans the wider Legrand | AV portfolio and continues to be strengthened through technology partnerships developed via the Utelligence Alliance Partner Program.
"Integrators managing complex AV environments need visibility across every layer of their infrastructure, and the network is a critical piece of that picture," said Kevin Morrison, CEO, Utelogy.
"Adding Luxul AV networking switches to the Utelogy platform means our shared customers can manage their full environment from one place, without compromise. Legrand | AV's commitment to open integration makes that possible."
The Luxul addition builds on a multi-year Utelligence Alliance Partner Program relationship that has already expanded Utelogy's coverage to Middle Atlantic PDU and UPS products and Vaddio conferencing systems. Bringing Luxul AV networking into the fold extends that collaboration to the network layer, offering a more unified view of the AV stack within Utelogy-managed environments.
