BBC World Service Chooses Vinten Radamec For Middle East TV Channels

BBC World Service is using the latest Fusion robotic heads and control systems from Vinten Radamec, a Vitec Group brand and global leader in camera automation, for its free-to-air BBC Arabic language and BBC Persian television channels broadcast from studios at BBC World Service in London.
BBC Arabic TV is beamed to cable and satellite viewers in 22 countries across North Africa and the Middle East via the Arabsat, Eutelsat and Nilesat satellites.
BBC Persian TV showcases high-quality accurate and impartial news, information and analysis from a global perspective in the Farsi language for Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan.
Some twelve Vinten Radamec Fusion FH100 heads - seven at BBC Arabic TV and five at BBC Persian TV - have been deployed in total, each mounted on a Vinten Osprey Elite pedestal and integrated with the Vinten Radamec Control System (VRC) offering some of the most advanced camera support technology currently available.
The Fusion FH100 is claimed to be the only on-shot robotic and manual pan & tilt head for use both as a standalone device and for seamless integration with robotic pedestals and height drives, while the Osprey Elite is easy to adjust and manoeuvre around the confines of a news studio.
Delivering multi-user, multi-facility control of up to 32 devices from any number of locations, the VRC is especially well-suited to the two-studio structure at BBC Arabic TV. Its shot storage facility allows picture based running orders to be created with a simple one-touch operation, along with programmable fade times to improve show creativity and management.
Both installations were managed by Vinten Rademec's systems integrator Dega Broadcast Systems working closely with engineering teams from Vinten Radamec and the BBC.
