VMI Welcomes Its 5,000th Attendee To HD Seminars

Established in 1979, VMI have rapidly become one of London's most established HD camera rental companies, specialising in documentaries, dramas and international co-productions.
Over the past four years, VMI have also supplied equipment on approaching 50 HD feature films.
VMI's MD Barry Bassett has been a prolific evangelist of HD over the past four years. He has been instrumental in spreading the good news of HD and its merits far and wide by introducing this technology to a wide spectrum of industry professionals including those about to embark on a career within film.
During this period of time Barry has held seminars at the annual Edinburgh Festival, the EBIT Fesitval in Munich, The Production Broadcast Conference, the HD Show and, most recently, the Video Forum in Earls Court London.
At this seminar (sponsored by Panasonic), Barry spoke to a packed, enthusiastic audience about achieving the film look on HD and the excellent production values.
While on the subject of seminars and events, don't forget that VMI are currently running their HD for Producers seminars. All are invited to attend this free seminar, which is approximately 90 minutes long and features great examples of recent dramas, features and documentaries by demonstrating the best ways to create excellent production values by looking at Super 16 vs HD and 35mm vs HD - all of these will be projected in VMI's HD Cinema in Soho.

Last, but not least, recently VMI Soho has been buzzing with activity. This is all due to the DoP days they have been hosting regularly. D'Arblay Street has been awash with excited DoPs all heading for VMI, who have all been welcomed by Barry and Kevin Oaten (VMI's Operations Director).
During these events, VMI have been giving their clients the opportunity to try out a selection of their new kit and enjoy informal discussions with their technical team. These events have proved very successful and VMI are very pleased with the overwhelming response they have received.
